The dialogue between urban development and touristic activities was the main topic of this design program.

The city of Yalta, as the centre of the southern recreational region of Crimea is facing enormous challenges because of the increasing tourism development. The general conditions are composed of the small scale and landscape oriented touristic infrastructure of the 19th century and by large scale resort typologies from soviet time as well as the specific climatic and topographical situations.

The aim of the workshop was to elaborate scenarios for the urban development of Yalta on its key-locations under the above mentioned conditions
